OUR STORY

Growing up in a family where his father operated a small, 600-square-foot paint store, Shlomi Meoded was immersed in the world of paint from an early age. While Shlomi’s true passion was fashion design, after completing university, he felt a strong sense of duty to help his father as he grew older. During this time, the business began to grow rapidly, and Shlomi couldn’t bring himself to leave his father to manage it alone. However, Shlomi quickly became frustrated with the conventional paint business. Shlomi knew that to make a real impact, he needed to infuse his love for design into the world of paint.

Slowly, Shlomi realized that to truly succeed, he needed to offer something different—something that would inspire both designers and the painters he worked with. He set out to bring high-end European finishes, like Venetian Plasters and specialty decorative paints, to the market. He opened an academy to teach artisans the techniques behind these luxurious finishes, transforming painters into true artists. His mission was clear: to elevate the industry, and to help painters and designers grow their own businesses alongside his.

In 2002, after receiving countless calls from U.S.-based painters frustrated with the lack of advanced finishes in the market, Shlomi made the bold decision to move to the U.S. He saw a significant gap in the industry, and he knew he could fill it. But as he began importing materials from Europe, he quickly encountered issues with control over quality, timing, and import logistics.

Determined to solve these challenges, Shlomi took a major step in 2007 by opening the first manufacturing facility of lime-based plasters in the U.S. The early years were tough, especially as the market wasn’t yet ready for these premium finishes. Only a handful of designers were working with high-end plasters and paints at the time. To grow the business, Shlomi had to develop a diverse range of products that could cater to commercial, residential, and industrial markets while fitting both traditional and modern design aesthetics. He also had to educate an entire industry—from painters and stucco applicators to designers and architects—on the value and application of these unique materials.

Despite the challenges, Shlomi’s perseverance paid off. By staying true to his beliefs, he eventually saw his products gain recognition across the U.S. Today, Meoded’s finishes grace the walls of luxury homes, restaurants, hotels, malls, and more. Thanks to Meoded’s headquarters in the heart of Hollywood, Shlomi’s work caught the attention of the film industry, celebrities, and top designers and architects in Los Angeles.

As decorative paints and plasters became increasingly popular, Meoded grew to become the leader in the industry, supplying products through top Benjamin Moore dealers across the U.S. as well as through Sherwin Williams, the most respected companies in the industry.

Now, Meoded is proudly a family-run business. Shlomi, the visionary behind the company, continues to drive innovation and push design trends forward. His two sons, Oren and Gal, have taken on key roles to help shape the company’s future. Oren, with his background in business and finance, manages Meoded’s operations and strategic growth, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation. Gal focuses on Meoded’s marketing and digital presence, helping bring the Meoded story and products to a global audience.

Together, Shlomi, Oren, and Gal continue the family legacy—committed to elevating the world of decorative finishes and pushing the boundaries of the industry.

Shlomo Meoded, CEO

As the founder of Meoded Paint, Shlomo always had a keen eye for design. Growing up helping his father run the family paint store, he realized he was able to utilize his artistic eye and create beautiful and unique products within the paint industry.

Shlomo studied closely the unique textures and colors available in Europe. With his keen eye and passion for decorative arts, he began to teach painters the technical and artistic skills of faux finishing. He transformed many paint businesses into thriving specialty paint businesses with clients across the globe.

To grow the decorative paint business, Shlomo set his sights on the growing metropolis of Los Angeles. It is here in the heart of Hollywood that Meoded opened up their 15,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art showroom and manufacturing facility. Continuing the tradition of training and servicing the artisan craftsman with unique products that are recognized as among the best in the world, is the visionary drive of Shlomo Meoded and his innovative team.
