Meoded’s Lime Wash Base Coat is a premium-quality, water-based, 100% acrylic primer formulated to be used as a base coat for Meoded Lime Wash. This primer serves as the base coat for both interior and exterior Lime Wash applications. The easy-to-use formula is created to properly absorb Meoded’s Lime Wash to help achieve the right finish for your project. For best results, two coats are recommended.
Application
Preparation:
- All surfaces must be clean and free from wax, grease, oil, dirt, chalk, dust, mildew, etc., and not have any loose or peeling paint.
- Interior New Surfaces: Prime the substrate first with a PVA primer and let it fully dry.
- Interior and Exterior Existing Surfaces: Any glossy surfaces must be lightly sanded, dusted, then primed with a multi-purpose primer and let fully dry. Next, apply one coat of Lime Wash Base Coat, and let it dry for at least 5-8 hours. Preparation of flat, non-glossy surfaces requires only the application of Lime Wash Base Coat.
Application Methods:
The base coat can be brushed, rolled, or spray applied. Apply only when the surface and air temperatures are between 50 F and 95 F. Do not apply under high humidity or if rain is expected within 24 hours. Use a water-based universal primer first when going over oil-based paint.

Meoded’s Lime Wash Base Coat covers between 200-350 square feet per gallon depending on surface texture and porosity.
