A: We recommend thin MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) panels. Usually available at big box stores like Home Depot. Sand, clean and use Meoded Quartz Primer first, prior to plaster applications.
How do you create fluted plaster sample boards?
A: We recommend using a long MDF panel to start. Clean, prep and prim with 2 coats of Meoded Quartz Primer. Then spread a thick bodied lime plaster like Meoded Intonaco with your trowel. It has to be thick and even. Then with Meoded Fluted Plaster Tools, rake the plaster all at once down the long board. Fill gaps as needed. Once dry, use a circular saw to cut into smaller sample board pieces. Sand any rough edges and clean to finish.
