Looking for the next big wall trend in luxury interior design? Meet Pearlas Velvet™ paint – the Meoded decorative, faux-finishing paint that’s taking over upscale homes, boutique interiors, and designer showrooms. This metallic suede wall finish delivers the depth and texture of Venetian plaster, the soft shimmer of silk wallpaper, and the handcrafted elegance of faux painting techniques used by top decorative painters. Reminiscent of the iconic Ralph Lauren suede paint from the ‘80s and ‘90s with a modern twist, Pearlas Velvet™ paint blends retro charm with modern sophistication, offering a customizable, artistic finish that transforms ordinary walls into stunning works of art.

Custom Texture, Limitless Expression
Applied in two thin coats using a trowel, Pearlas Velvet™ paint offers a dynamic finish that can be fully tailored to your artistic vision. Whether you’re aiming for the soft, layered effect of a lime wash with a slight sheen or a more dramatic, suede-inspired texture, the final look is entirely shaped by your trowel technique. This level of customization opens the door to endless creative possibilities—no two applications will ever look exactly alike.
If you’re not a DIYer and are hiring a professional applicator, be sure to request a sample board before the full application begins. This ensures you and your PRO are aligned on the direction, texture, and movement of the final finish, preventing surprises and guaranteeing a result you’ll love.

Durability Meets Elegance with Velvet Paint
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Pearlas Velvet™ paint is a practical choice for high-traffic areas. Its washable surface allows for easy maintenance—simply use a slightly damp, smooth fiber cloth to gently remove any dirt or grime. This combination of beauty and functionality makes it ideal for formal living and dining rooms, upscale boutiques, posh hotel lobbies, and other spaces where refined style is desired.
Preparation and Application Tips
For optimal results, ensure your walls are level 5 smooth and properly primed:
New Drywall Surfaces: Prime with a PVA primer and allow it to dry fully.
Existing Surfaces: Lightly sand any sheen, clean, and ensure the surface is dust-free. Then, prime with a multipurpose primer and let it dry completely.
When applying Meoded Velvet Paint:
- Apply the first thin coat using a trowel with varied movements.
- Allow it to dry for at least one hour.
- Apply the second coat, again using varied trowel movements.
- Use a clean trowel to achieve the desired movement and texture throughout the finish.
If the material feels too heavy, it can be diluted with up to 10% water to achieve the desired consistency.

PRO Trowel Tips:
Use a Clean Trowel for Finishing: After initial application, always switch to a clean trowel to create the desired movement in the finish. This prevents drag marks and ensures a smoother, more controlled pattern.
Keep Edges Polished: Wipe down your trowel frequently with a damp cloth while working to keep buildup from affecting your finish.
