Velvet Paint Instructions:

Interior Applications Only:

Surface Preparation:
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of loose or flaking particles, dirt, mildew, oil, grease, chalk, or efflorescence. Proper surface preparation is key to achieving a flawless, velvety finish.

  • Previously Painted Glossy Surfaces: Sand lightly, clean thoroughly, and apply a multi-purpose primer before the first thin coat of Pearlas Velvet™ to ensure adhesion.
  • Drywall: Apply a PVA primer before the first coat of Pearlas Velvet™. Smooth, primed surfaces will help the paint glide evenly and create the most uniformed finish.
  • Previously Painted Flat Surfaces: Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or debris. Pearlas Velvet™ can be applied directly over flat finishes for a smooth, even result.

First Coat:
Apply a thin, even coat of Meoded Pearlas Velvet™ using a rounded-edge stainless steel trowel. This initial coat serves as the base, so focus on full coverage rather than the design. Allow the coat to dry completely before moving on to the next layer.

Second Coat:
Use the rounded edge trowel or spatula to apply the material in small sections, moving it in multidirectional, varied strokes to create natural tonal variation. You’ll begin to see the soft, dynamic movement develop as you work the second coat. Apply gently, avoiding excessive pressure, and ensure the finish is even across the surface for a smooth, leveled, velvety metallic effect.

Finishing Tips:

  • No sealing is required—Pearlas Velvet™ is washable and durable, making it perfect for interior walls, ceilings, and architectural features.
  • Experiment with light trowel techniques to create a one-of-a-kind finish unique to your space.
