Meet the Designer: Victoria Forehan

When interior designer Victoria Forehan set out to renovate her home office, she envisioned a space that felt immersive, calming, and energizing. The result is a plaster drenched dream where walls and ceiling are wrapped in a rich, soft brown Venetian plaster that transforms the room into a cocoon-like retreat.

California Roots, Timeless Perspective

Victoria grew up in California, surrounded by light-filled homes and an appreciation for natural textures and laid-back living. Today, she brings that California sensibility to her work in Tennessee, where she lives with her husband, their two children, and two Labradors.

Her signature aesthetic blends warmth, texture, and livable elegance, qualities that naturally pair with Venetian plaster finishes and are evident in her amazing, home office design.

Her Venetian Plaster Home Office Inspires Creativity

For her personal workspace, Victoria leaned into a full plaster drench using Marmorino Tintoretto, a matte Venetian plaster known for its soft, elegant movement. Applied to both walls and ceiling, the custom rich brown color creates a seamless finish that feels both dramatic and calming.

The lime plastered walls create a serene, warm atmosphere, defined by elegant matte color variation, subtle depth, and a seamless, cohesive surface free of visual breaks. Natural light subtly shifts across the surface throughout the day, revealing tonal variations that give the space a lived-in, curated feel.

Choosing a beautiful matte Venetian plaster for her personal space was also intentional, an environment designed to inspire creativity and focus.

“When a space truly reflects you, it allows for your best ideas to come to life.” – Victoria Forehan

What Is Plaster Drenching? Why Applying Venetian Plaster to the Fifth Wall Makes a Dramatic Difference

Plaster drenching, often described as color drenching with texture, wrapping a space in a continuous Venetian plaster finish across the walls and the often-overlooked “fifth wall,” the ceiling.

By extending the material overhead, the room becomes fully immersive, eliminating harsh transitions and creating a soft, cohesive envelope.

Applying Venetian plaster to the ceiling adds subtle movement that catches natural light from above, enhances depth, and makes the entire space feel more intentional, architectural, and refined.

Q: Will Venetian plaster be too busy or distracting for a workspace?
A: No. Venetian plaster offers soft tonal variation rather than bold pattern, making it ideal for focus-driven environments. Meoded’s Venetian plaster finishes are known for their controlled movement and refined matte texture, allowing designers to create visual interest without distraction. Custom color capabilities also ensure the finish complements a calm, productivity-friendly palette.

Q: Is Venetian plaster durable enough for a home office?
A: Yes. Venetian plaster is more durable than standard paint and holds up well to everyday use.
